“He did deliver me from bondage” p. A-21

About #9:

“viewing everyone as equal before God, we will become “no respecter of persons.”

I had thought I was working toward the fruit of ‘seeing eye to eye and being equal one with another’ but this says equal before God.  That is something different.  This is how you disarm the viscous game of the “Inner Ring” (CS Lewis), because of our relationship to God--  Incredible.

p. A-22

“He has sent His Beloved Son into the world that we might “hear Him” and more than just hear Him, that we might become like Him.  Is that God’s charge to us?  No, it is His promise.  Do we have power in ourselves to accomplish it? No.  The power is in Christ.  Will self-sufficiency achieve it? No. We are not sufficient. (Mosiah 2:20-21)  Will church activity alone accomplish it? No.  Keeping the “law availeth nothing” (Mosiah 3:15).  While it is true that the Lord is about when we do what he says, it is a transcendent truth that it is the motive and intent of the heart that God considers. (1 Sam 16:7)

“Only we ourselves and God can really know weather that outward display of obedience is indicative of our compliance with the lower law of performances or the higher law of love… So do we have a thousand things to do today to be worthy? No.  We have only one work today and that is to love God the Father, and to come unto His Son.”

With this I have permission to let go of all the things I have to do, and just focus on the Son—the one most important thing.  He has promised me in a blessing that “As you focus on the Savoir and put Him first in your life, everything else will fall in line.”

I am realizing how truly delicate a flower is trust.  Human nature fascinates me- probably because it’s one of those things that we may not be able to figure out completely in this life.  I suppose if it is possible, then it is only discernable through the Spirit of Christ- in Him and through Him and of Him.
